Saint Luke’s- San Lucas Food Pantry

Our Pantry had a modest beginning during the fall season of 2007, when we served  about ten families per month and relied solely on donations from those who attended services at St. Luke’s-San Lucas. At the present, the average number of individuals served each month is about 800 and keeps growing.

We provide, free of cost, mostly non-perishable food by appointment. We open only on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. For more information, or to make an appointment, please call (617)884-4278.

We rely heavily on the Greater Boston Food Bank for food, and are glad to accept private & corporate donations. If you would like to make a donation, either in-kind or financial please phone Fr. Edgar at (617)884-3300 or e-mail him at Vicarsanlucas@aol.com .

This program is operated by one staff member -Gerson McDonald, our Food Pantry Coordinator- and by volunteers: Twice per week our Church Co-Warden Rafael Soto picks-up the food from the Food Bank and brings it to St. Luke's. Every Friday volunteers from Epiphany Episcopal Church, Winchester,  place the food in bags and leave everything ready for the Saturday distribution, which is done by Gerson and volunteers from all avenues of life. Feel inspired to get involved? Fr. Edgar will be happy to hear from you!
